What level do I need to join?+
None. The curriculum begins at Method 01 — Foundations and assumes no previous Jeet Kune Do experience. Experienced practitioners are free to enter wherever the material becomes relevant to them.
Can I really learn JKD online?+
You can learn the structure, the principles, the mechanics and the training methods online, and you can develop a great deal of genuine skill on your own. What a screen cannot give you is contact, timing against a real opponent and resistance. The Academy is built to support your training — including the training you do with partners and in person — not to replace it.
Do I need a partner?+
Not to start. A significant part of the curriculum is designed for solo training, and every method includes solo work. Partner work becomes increasingly important as you progress, particularly through contact, trapping, close range and aliveness.
How much equipment will I need?+
Very little at the beginning. Space to move is enough to start. A heavy bag, focus mitts, gloves and a double-end bag each open up more of the material as you go, but none of them are required to begin.
Can I train at my own pace?+
Yes. There are no fixed timetables and no schedule to keep up with. Progression through the Pathway is based on demonstrated capability rather than time served, so you move forward when the skill is there.
What happens if I already have JKD experience?+
Use the Pathway as a diagnostic rather than a syllabus. Work through it to identify gaps, revisit the fundamentals with a different set of questions, and go directly to the Library for the material that interests you most.
Does membership include coaching?+
Membership includes the curriculum, the training material, live sessions and the member community, where questions are asked and answered. Individual one-to-one coaching is not part of the standard membership. Where personal coaching is offered, it is a separate service.
Is instructor certification included?+
Not within the membership itself, but the Academy is the route to it. Once you have submitted assessments across all ten Methods, Training Group Leader can be achieved. The first level of instructor certification is then made available following an in-person evaluation.
Can I cancel my membership?+
Yes. You can cancel at any time from your account. Access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for.
